
Churches
St. Nicolai Church is second largest in the diocese. Construction of the church began in the 13th century. The church is open to the public every day in the daytime.
Nakskov has also a beautiful catholic church, St. Franciscus Church, which is a testament to the large Catholic congregation in the town. The church was established after the arrival of Polish farm workers at the beginning of the 20th century.
Nakskov was also one of those Danish towns where people of the Jewish faith were allowed to settle in the middle of the 16th century. Consequently, there still exists a beautiful little Jewish cemetery in the town.
Nakskov Fjord
Nakskov Fjord, which has the most islands of any fjord in Denmark, can be enjoyed during a sailing trip on the post ship Vesta or Freja that run tours daily throughout the summer.

The Old Forge Works (Den gamle Smedje) in Tilegade
Here you will find the old blacksmith busy at the forge demonstrating this traditional craft.
Denmark’s Sugar Museum
Here you can take a fascinating journey through the history of sugar with exhibits and films that will appeal to adults and children alike. One of the Iargest sugar factories in Europe is situated in Nakskov.
The Old Printing Works
A charming old printing works with presses that are still in use for resolving many specialised printing jobs.
Nakskov Maritime Museum tells the history of Nakskov as a seaport and shipbuilding town. Exhibition of ship models.
