The water tower is the landmark of Nykøbing F. and operated by a school called Multicenter Syd.
It was build in 1908 of an architekt called Einar Ambt to improve the water supply and was the first reinforced concrete building of this size. 400.000 gallons of water could the water tower accomodate, it is 43 meters high and the highest floor with prospect over Nykøbing, is in 32 methers hight, where there are 147 steps up to.
But the water tower is also a center for art, culture og turism with for floors which are rented to different exhibitions.
The view from the top floor is unique. Here you can get a marvelous view over the rooftops of the town, the monastery church and the bishop's place. Looking in the other direction, you can see many sailing boats on their way to new adventures.
