The museum tells the story about the Polish seasonal workers who in 1893 and in the years after that in large numbers came to Lolland-Falster in order to work in the sugar beet fields. The barracks contain a large collection of field tools, polish paper cuttings and a very comprehensive collection of Catholic pictures. The exhibited objects have been donated from polish descendants, since a lot of the seasonal workers settled down in Lolland-Falster. The Polish Barrack in Tågerup is one of the best-preserved barracks of the many similar ones, which were once build to house the sugar beet girls. The Polish Barrack is driven by a private society, but is under protection of the Danish state. It represents a cultural- and historical monument of an important period of time in Denmark´s industrial history.
