It is a quite unique experience to be able to cycle along the dike with the water by your side all the way from Navskov to Rødby. You can stop for an ice cream at one of the charming places along the way and enjoy the beautiful offshore wind turbines off on the horizon. Alternatively, you can take your bicycle on the Post boat out on the fjord and get off at the Albuen isthmus and cycle the scenic way back to Nakskov town. You can be really active with your family or on your own here.
Play a round of golf on the fantastic course by Halsted Abbey, a truly natural course in picturesque surroundings. It is also possible to score a great bargain under the Golf Campaign. Read more about the offer here.
The water is some of the warmest in Denmark, in Nakskov Fjord at any rate, where the child-friendly beaches are exceptional. Hestehoved Beach also has Denmark’s longest bathing jetty, which stretches for 97 metres out onto the fjord, from where you can spring into the rolling blue waves.
Lolland has some of the richest soil, which is excellent for growing a range of agricultural produce, especially grapes for the production of wine. The natural landscape is magnificent and not as flat as you might believe. However, the predominantly flat landscape does indeed make it ideal for cycling holidays and walking tours.
