Hideaway Winery & Fig Arbor

Organic quality wine, Italian country cuisine, stays, tours and picnic in the vineyard or fig arboretum.

At the top of Fejø in the middle of the island's most beautiful nature, the Hideaway lights up in its Italian colors and style. The atmospheric winery is the place where time flows unnoticed, while you can enjoy the surroundings, food and wines from the tractor place. The country house covers an area of 2.3 ha and contains a winery, a tractor place, a vineyard and one of Northern Europe's largest fig collections planted in the open air. In addition, there are supplemented with cozy cabins for overnight stays and Mediterranean plants, such as cork oak, columnar cypress, magnolias and flax palms.

Lunch in the tractor place

The style is Italian country cuisine including delicate salads. Our raw materials are as much as possible organic produce from the local area. Eat the meal in the beautiful tractor place or in the courtyard under the fig trees.

A night at the Hideaway?

Stay and extend the delights and atmosphere of our delicious wooden cabins. Here you can enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening and wake up with a view of the vineyards.

Picnic in the vineyard

Share a wonderful lunch basket in the vineyard or among the beautiful figs in the middle of nature. There is of course a bottle of the winery's own wine included in the basket in addition to Italian charcuterie, salads, the best sourdough bread, etc.

Field and winery

Hvidtfeldt-Gundersen wines are handmade wines made gently and with the fewest possible excipients. By giving the vines optimal growing conditions and a reduced yield, they are naturally strong without the use of pesticides or fertilizers, and the geese weed under the vines in the best organic way. The winery's signature wine is the white wine "Goosefoot" made in Riesling Feinherb style.

Tour

Tours are also arranged through the fig arbor and vineyard, where you will be led through wine and fig breeding up close.
