Along Ulslev Strand on the east coast of the Danish island of Falster, a row of older houses forms part of a smallholder settlement dating from the 19th century. Each holding had around three Danish tønder of land and was established close to the coast so families could combine farming with a small amount of fishing.
The area has been protected since 1968, helping preserve a distinctive cultural landscape of small farmsteads, field tracks and open views across the Baltic Sea.
