Donnemose Holiday Colony
Along the KØSTEN hiking route, Donnemose Holiday Colony stands near the beach. Its thatched wooden buildings from 1919 tell the story of children's holidays on Falster.

Donnemose Holiday Colony was built in 1919 for children from Frederiksberg near Copenhagen. Its distinctive wooden buildings with thatched roofs stand close to the beach and tell the story of a time when children from working-class families were sent away from the city to spend time in nature.
Fresh air, meals and outdoor experiences formed an important part of their stay, offering a break from everyday life in Copenhagen. The historic buildings remain as a reminder of Denmark's tradition of holiday colonies and the early efforts to give children from the city access to nature and the coast.
Donnemose Holiday Colony is privately owned today and is available for rent by prior arrangement.
