Heritage train Maribo-Bandholm
Take the cosy train ride with the vintage carriages on the Maribo-Bandholm Museum Railway. The old train carriages depart from Maribo station and are the oldest railway on Lolland and Falster. The journey goes to Bandholm, where there is a short stop at the beautiful Bandholm Badehotel before the train returns.
The museum railway from Maribo to Bandholm harbour opened in 1869 and is the first railway on Lolland-Falster. The railway is 8 kilometres long and runs through the most beautiful green wood.
There are two stops along the way: First at Bandholm Station, with a very well-preserved and authentic interior, which means that the buildings and station area are often used for film productions.
A few minutes later, the tour ends in Bandholm Harbour. Here you can get off the train, or you can choose to take the vintage train back to Maribo again.
Tickets can be purchased on the website or at the train before departure, both in Maribo and in Bandholm Harbour.
The trains typically run during the Easter holidays, in the summer and during the autumn school holidays in October. Check the times on the website, where you can also book a ticket (especially recommended when the steam locomotive is running).
Groups tours can be arranged of the old depot in Maribo, where the old locomotives and carriages are safe and sound when not in use.
The trains can be booked for excursions throughout the year. Bookings can be made by contacting Museumsbanen.
