Stubbekøbing Museum

Stubbekøbing Museum is both a cosy local history museum, a modern knitting museum and you can get help with tourist information during museum opening hours.

Located in an old merchant's house in the centre of the main street in Stubbekøbing, you'll find several museums in one.

On the ground floor you can visit the Nielsen family's living room, which is a snapshot of how life was lived in the early 1900s in the market town of Stubbekøbing.

On the first floor you can find Denmark's first knitting museum, STRIK på 1'ste. Here you'll find a unique collection of historical knitwear and tools. In addition, every summer there are new exhibitors with exciting knitwear and knitting techniques as well as various workshops. If you love to knit, you'll feel right at home!

Stubbekøbing Museum also boasts one of Europe's largest collections of scales and a fine collection of blue-enamelled kitchen utensils, as well as a shoemaker's workshop.

Come and visit this historical museum with its fine knitting section.
