Galleri Finnermann

Galleri Finnermann has been part of the royal family and served as a warehouse building for the castle in Nykøbing F. Today, the gallery has regular exhibitions with artists from Denmark and abroad.
The yellow warehouse, which was built in about 1740, and the old "coachman's stable" (1640) are some of the last buildings that have stood on the castle grounds, which were used by the royal family.
The buildings are therefore worth a visit in themselves, and there are many who have already visited the premises during the careful conversion into a gallery / cultural center. In the backyard of the warehouse there is still an old millstone and two large granite vats, which were most likely part of the old watermill.
The castle stood unused and quietly fell into disrepair. In 1766, it was decided to sell the castle at an auction with a view to demolition.
Galleri Finnermann is therefore the last complete building left from the time when there was a royal palace in Nykøbing F.
