There is much to choose from when visiting the South Sea Islands of Lolland and Falster. If you do not know where to begin, then follow our guide to find the most beautiful scenery, the biggest attractions, the cosiest towns, the best food experiences, and the most impressive historic manors. We do not want you to miss out!
Please indulge in the beautiful nature of the South Sea Islands; there is so much of it! Among other things we have more than 600 km coastline, countless beaches – for example the extraordinary Marielyst Beach – a row of charming, small islands, and not least the two unique nature parks Nakskov Fjord and Maribo Lakes.
The charming old towns of Lolland-Falster are worth a journey in themselves. Pay a visit to the old cathedral town of Maribo where old and new mix in the best possible way, shop away in Nykøbing Falster, go for a stroll in the historic narrow streets of Nakskov, or go to Sakskøbing and enjoy its beautiful setting at the end of Sakskøbing Fjord.
The favourable climate and rich soil of the South Sea Islands is something you can taste when you take a bite of our locally grown foods. There are juicy apples from the small island Fejø, award-winning beer, world-class cherry wine and many other delicacies. This is why we proudly speak of the Earth’s Best Produce from Lolland-Falster.
